2016 Quakertown 9/11 Patriots Day Ceremony

September 15, 2016

Residents and staff from the New Vitae Wellness and Recovery community participated in the Quakertown 9/11 Patriots Day Ceremony on Sunday, September 11th.  The group gathered at the Quakertown American Legion, Post 242 at 610 East Broad Street, to remember the 18 Bucks County residents and other first responders who died during the terrorist attacks in 2001.  The audience honored the day by observing a moving rifle salute under the direction of Les Walters.  The annual ceremony also served to honor the sacrifices of police, fire, and emergency medical personnel.  Following the service, the audience mingled and shared refreshments.

Participants supported one another while commemorating the lives of local heroes.  We were privileged to participate in the day and were happy to support the members of the Quakertown American Legion and local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

"I love New Vitae. My team has been really supportive as I learned to manage my life and be successful in college and employment. I'm getting ready to move on from the program into my own apartment, and feel that New Vitae has helped me be ready for this next step."
